Donald Duck. 1940-1990

Following the success of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Walt Disney began developing and planning several animated feature films to follow suit. However, during World War II, Walt Disney Studios came to a standstill with the ability to create batch films. Interest in the South American market was especially evident, primarily because of the inability to import cartoons in occupied Europe as a result of the war. Donald, raising his fame, appeared in four of the package films – three in South America. The first of these was Donald’s first appearance in the 1943 feature film Salute, Friends!, Which introduced Donald to a Brazilian parrot named Jose Carioca. In 1944, Donald and Jose were connected to a pompous rooster named Panchito Pistoles, thus forming the title trio in “Three Caballeros”.
